When you create an event invitation on this platform, the system generates an .ics file (iCalendar format) containing the event's date, time, venue, and a reminder. This file is embedded into a QR code. When a guest scans the QR code with their phone camera, the phone recognises it as a calendar file and opens Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook - whichever the guest uses - with the event pre-filled. The guest taps "Add" and the event is saved, complete with a reminder.
This is the standard .ics format defined in RFC 5545 and supported universally across calendar applications. No third-party app is needed. The QR code can be printed on paper, shared as an image on WhatsApp, posted on Instagram, or embedded in an email - guests just scan it with their camera.
QR code and barcode generation uses client-side JavaScript libraries (QRCodeStyling for QR codes, JsBarcode for barcodes). Your input data is processed in your browser and is never sent to any server during generation. Event data is only stored when you explicitly click "Create Shareable Link" - at which point the event details are saved to a Google Sheet so the shareable URL remains stable. No account is created and no password is stored.
